Betty Lucille Collins

Betty Lucille Collins, age 84, of Elkhart passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family, under the loving care from the Center for Hospice Care. She was born on March 19, 1938 to Charles and Elizabeth Tapp on The Point Livermore, KY. Betty married the love of her life Joseph A. Collins on January 5, 1953 in Raton, NM he preceded her in death on April 12, 2013.

Betty worked alongside her husband in their family business, JB Enterprises. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and her dogs. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her children Joseph Thomas (Cindy L.) Collins of Union, MI, Jerry (Janice) Collins of Middlebury, IN, Shelly Collins of Union, MI and Pamela Kyle of Bristol, IN; grandchildren, Shawn, Jamie, Shannon, Kelly, Crystal, Jessica and Ashley; 17 great-grandchildren and a special great- granddaughter Hailey Ramirez who helped to take care of and give comfort to Betty.7 great-great grandchildren, her sister Gladys Roberts, sisters-in-law, Joan (Bob) Tapp, Patsy (R.T.) Winstead  and a special family friend, Lewis “Joey” Reed and family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Gracie Tapp; her siblings Margaret Bratcher, Willard Tapp, Ada Bishop, Lester Tapp, Gene Tapp, Mary Tapp, Ann Brown and R.T. Tapp

Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be at 10 am on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the funeral home.
