Carol Jean (DeWitt) Hartranft

Carol Jean Hartranft, 94, of Union, MI passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Carol was born on March 9, 1929 in Goshen, IN to Lloyd and Audrey DeWitt. She married the love of her life, Robert Hartranft on June 17, 1950 in Elkhart, IN.

Carol was a beautician. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her daughters Cheryl Philips and Janet (Thomas) Redding; grandsons Wyatt (Bevin) Redding and Austin (Meghann) Redding and great-grandchildren Amelia, Garrett, Brayden and Finley; her sister Mary (Jim) Lau. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Audrey DeWitt, husband Robert Hartranft, daughter Susan Hartranft (twin sister to Janet Redding) and her siblings Bob DeWitt, Bill DeWitt, Ted DeWitt and Evelyn Niece.

A celebration of life service for Carol will be held at 11:30 am Saturday June 3, 2023 at Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 4206 East Bristol Street, Elkhart, IN 46514 . Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 to 11:30 at the church. She will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Union, MI.
