Charlene Esther (Hale) Price, 89, entered her heavenly victory on August 15, 2023, after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her husband, family and faith sustained her and ultimately gave her peace.
Charlene was born to the late Charles Wesley and Esther Hale, of Elkhart, on April 11, 1934. She worked at CTS Corporation in Elkhart for 30 years. She served alongside her husband as a partner in mission and ministry, providing financial and personal support to people and organizations in need, both at home and abroad, for many years.
Charlene was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Robert DeFoe Price over 72 years ago, on October 8, 1950, in Elkhart, Indiana. Charlene lovingly raised four children, and spent many hours in bleachers, stadiums and arenas cheering them on over the years. She enjoyed doing the same for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. From the very beginning, Charlene dedicated her children to God and led a life of humble example and faith that continues to inspire generations.
Friends and family remember Charlene as fun-spirited and creative; she could find a treasure everywhere she went. Charlene and Bob enjoyed traveling all over the world after retirement, but she was always glad to be home. She will be dearly missed by loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Bob; her sons Dan (Sandy) and Greg (Judy) Price; daughter Cheryl (Mike) Fahlbeck; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Bob Price and grandson Robi Price; her brothers, Junior, Albert, George and Eddie Hale, her parents, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone in Elkhart, on Saturday, August 19, from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, with a funeral service following at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery. The family is hosting a reception for family and friends at Trinity on Jackson, 2715 E. Jackson Street, Elkhart afterward.
