Clyde Wesley Kissel, 82, of Elkhart passed away on Thursday June 22, 2023. He was born on April 7, 1941 to Clyde and Farrel Kissel in Sturgis, MI. He married Deborah on July 12, 1969 at Calvary Methodist Church in Elkhart, IN.
Clyde owned and operated Clyde’s Marathon on the corner of Johnson Street and Bristol Street in Elkhart. He worked for several years as a purchasing agent and sales in the mobile home and R V industry. He retired as a warehouse manager from Russell Products in Elkhart. He enjoyed golfing, or simply being outdoors, doing yard work, gardening or mowing. He was an animal lover. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deb, their children Cynthia H., Michael (Dawn) Kissel, Wesley Kissel and Lisa Kissel; grandchildren Alex, Evan, Amanda, Travis, Nicholas, Allison and Michael Jr., and his brother, Bill (Ursala) Kissel of Hamburg, Germany. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Barbara, Richard and Nina.
Visitation will be from 9-10 am on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Trinity on Jackson Church, 2715 East Jackson Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46516 where funeral services will be at 10 am. Pastor Karen Koelsch will officiate. Burial will follow Osolo Township Cemetery in Elkhart, IN. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the Kissel family.
