Garry Dewayne Howell, Sr., 76 of Elkhart passed away at his home in Elkhart, IN. Garry was born on October 26,1947 in Grand Rapids, MI to Horace and Evelyn Howell. He married Elizabeth Nymeyer in Elkhart, IN.

Garry honorably served his county in the United States Army. He served three tours in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 7 bronze service stars, Air Medal w/OLC. Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device and Aircraft Crewman Badge. He was a truck driver for Direct Transit and Robert Weed Plywood. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and just being outdoors.

Garry is survived by his wife Elizabeth Howell (who passed away 13 days after Garry) his son Rick Howell; step-sons Ryan Hills and James Joseph Hills; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his sister Cindy Dove Walls; brother Darrell (Joyce) Howell and several nieces and nephews. Garry was preceded in death by his parents Horace and Evelyn Howell, son Garry Dewayne Howell, Jr., sister Cherie Larson and brother Horace Jefferson Howell.

Garry and his wife Elizabeth ashes will be laid to rest at 11 am Monday July15, 2024 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012.
