June DeLaura (DuCharme) Klinefelter

June DeLaura Klinefelter, age 97 of Roseville, MI, formerly of Elkhart, IN, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at her home with her son by her side. June was born to Maxime DuCharme and Martha Harrison on February 8, 1925.  On October 13, 1950 she married the love of her life, Charles J. Klinefelter. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1971.

In her younger years June worked as a dental assistant. She later managed several shoe stores for national companies including the Pic-Way shoe store chain. She and her husband also briefly owned and operated a convenience store in Elkhart. She was a very strong-minded lady and never let things stop her from getting what she needed to make life a little better for herself and others. She loved being a mother to her son and talking for hours with friends and family around her dining room table or on the telephone.

June is survived by her son Quinn Klinefelter of Roseville, MI; step-son James (Donna) Klinefelter of Sturgis, MI; step-grandchildren Emily (Thomas) McAlister, Amanda Hudson and Amelia (Shelton) Sims. June was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her siblings Irene Watson, Robert DuCharme, Lorraine Ayrea and Rosetta Hummer and her son’s partner Susan Reed.

Visitation for June will be from 11 am -1 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514, where funeral services will be held at 1 pm with Rev.
