Agnes Wilson Blakesley, 97 of Elkhart, formerly of Bristol, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Hubbard Hill Estates.
She was born Dec. 25, 1917 near Nappanee to John and Amanda (Hunsberger) Wilson. She married Lewis Woodrow Blakesley on Sept. 19, 1936. She and her husband were farmers in the Bristol area. He died on Sept. 5, 1992.
Mrs. Blakesley was a retired school bus driver for Elkhart Community Schools. She was a member of Washington Township Farm Bureau and served on the board of the Elkhart County Farm Bureau. She attended Vistula Christian Church and was a member of the York Township home economics club for many years. She and her husband were charter members of the Elkhart Vintage Auto Club and drove antique cars in local parades.
She is survived by 3 children; Michael (Alice) Blakesley, MD of South Bend, Patrick (Linda Clark, OD) Blakesley of Bristol, and Melinda Blakesley of Indianapolis; 5 grandchildren, Andrey, Nikolai, Natalia, Miles and Madison and 2 sisters, Pearl (Kenneth) Boling of Elkhart and Bessie Wenger Weaver of Wakarusa. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Huldah Brock, Berneice Esposto, 2 half sisters, Catherine Kauffman, Goldie Glasscock, and 2 half brothers, Clarence and Harvey Clingdanel.
Visitation for Agnes will be Tuesday, April 14th from 2-5 pm at Hubbard Hill Estates, where services will be at 5:30 PM. Chaplain Dave Severance will officiate. Entombment will be at Faith Mausoleum, Rice Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Hubbard Hill Estates. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
