Aileen R. Burns

Aileen R. Burns, 93 of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 at Hubbard Hill Estates.

She was born Oct. 29, 1921 in Capron, IL to Andrew A. and J. Margaret (Staas) Mulligan. She married Maurice W. Burns on June 3, 1944 in Capron, IL. He died on March 17, 1994. Surviving are a son, Charles (Darla) Burns of Nappanee; 2 daughters, Linda Trigg of Elk Grove Village, IL and Patricia J. Shepherd of Schaumburg, IL; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Everhardt and a 2 brothers, William Mulligan and Robert Mulligan

Aileen retired after many years as assistant librarian for Northside Junior High School. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Four Arts Club.

Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Sunday, Sept. 20th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10 am on Monday, Sept. 21st. Rev. Robert Wyman will officiate. Interment will follow at Rice Cemetery.
