Alberta B. Gandy

Alberta B. Gandy, 93, of Elkhart died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Greenleaf Living Center, Elkhart. She was born April 7, 1918 in Noble County, Indiana to Claude and Velma (Metz) Hartsock and married Colby J. Gandy on Sept. 29, 1939 in Huntington, IN. He died Dec. 30, 2003. Surviving are a daughter, Karen (Randall) Thomson of Elkhart, a grandson Brian Krask of Elkhart, 2 great-granddaughters and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Kay Milan and a sister, Jean Clark.

Mrs. Gandy graduated from Wolf Lake High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist church and enjoyed working outside with her flowers. She also made ceramic plates and painted them. Everyone who knew her loved her.

Family and friends may call from noon Monday until the service time at 1 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Pastor Karen Bray will officiate. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam, IN.
