Alice Marie Fairfield

September 16, 1922 — September 5, 2008

Alice Marie Fairfield, 85, of Elkhart, passed away September 5, 2008 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart.

She was born September 16, 1922 in Goshen to Kenneth V. and Martha Faye (Eyer) Baugher. She married Robert P. Fairfield in May of 1948. He died February 13, 1994. Surviving are 2 daughters, Sandra Patton of Elkhart and Jacqulyn (David) Overton of Goshen; 2 sons, Louis D. (Jeanine) Fairfield of Russells Point, OH and Ted L. (Karen) Fairfield of Goshen; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Swank and a brother, Allen Baugher.

Mrs. Fairfield retired after 38 years as an assembler for Taylor Products. She was a member of the Bellefontaine Chapter of Daughter of the American Revolution. She was very interested in genealogy and volunteered at the Elkhart County Health Dept. She was a member of the Elkhart County Genealogical Society and was a board member of the Elkhart County Historical Society.

Friends may call from 2-6 pm Sunday at the Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where services will be at 1:00 pm Monday. Reverend Michael Tarner and her great-grandson, Pastor Randy Watts will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Elkhart County Historical Society.
