Allan Thomas Smith

Allan Thomas Christopher Smith, 65, of Niles, MI., passed away Saturday July 30 at home.
He was born July 25, 1951 at Camp McCoy Army Hospital in Sparta, WI to Thomas J. and Evelyn C. (Pettrillo) Smith. On Dec. 16, 1974 in Elkhart he married Cathy Barrows who survives along with their son Asa C. Smith of Poland, OH, 4 grandsons: Devin, Justice, Dillon and Jackson, and a sister Theresa Smith of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Thomas and Raymond Smith.

Allan graduated from Elkhart High School in 1970 and proudly served in the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He retired from Conrail as a machinist. He was a member of VFW Post 2284 in Edwardsburg, MI. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows.

Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm Wednesday Aug. 3 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where services will be at 1pm. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.
