Amanda Mae (Yoder) Tubbs

Amanda Mae Tubbs, 92 of Elkhart, IN passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on Friday, July 7, 2023. She was born on July 30, 1930 to Ora and Mattie Yoder in Nappanee, IN . She married James L. Tubbs on January 26, 1957 in Angola, IN.

Mae worked at Miles Laboratory in the shipping and receiving department. She was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge #599. She is a member of New Salem Church, formerly Salem United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Mae is survived by her children, Brenda (Alan) Lockhart of Ashley, IN., Eric (Patti) Tubbs of Frankfort, Il., and  Shannon Tubbs of Elkhart, IN., her grandchildren Trevor, Danny, Josh, Tyler, Christine, Steven, Megan, Clayton, Edward, Travis and Billy;  20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; her sibling Fanny Eberly and  Jerry Yoder; and her daughter-in-law Theresa Barnes. Mae was preceded in death by husband J.L.  on August 3, 1991; her son Eddie,  her siblings Alvin Yoder, Perry Yoder, Wilbur Yoder and Sevilla Miller; her grandson Ben; granddaughters Jessica and Kayla  and her son-in-law Bill Ritchey and 2 great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 10am- 12pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 12pm at the funeral home. Mae will be laid to rest next to her husband at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN where graveside services will be private.  Memorial donations in her memory may be made to New Salem Church, 52173 Ash Road, Granger, IN 46530.
