Amos M. Yoder, 87, of Edwardsburg, MI, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 2:10 am at Riverside Village in Elkhart.
He was born October 16, 1922 in Etna Green, IN to Monroe J. and Emma (Slabaugh) Yoder. He married Barbara Unley on April 13, 1952 in Goshen. She survives along with 2 sons, Kerry Yoder of Edwardsburg, MI and Gary Yoder of Goshen; 2 daughters, Helen (Farish) Howard of Goshen and Joan (Robert) Jones of Elkhart; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Ann (Jerry) Bontrager of Shipshewana, Emma (Mahlon) Eash of Ohio, Elizabeth (Jerry) Mast of Goshen and Sylvia (Chris) Bontrager of Shipshewana; and 2 brothers, Henry M. (Polly) Yoder and Monroe (Susan) Yoder of Goshen.
Mr. Yoder was a retired bricklayer. He was a member of the Indiana/Kentucky Bricklayers Union; DAV Life Member Post #15 in Goshen; and American Legion Post #365 in Edwardsburg. He was a US Army veteran.
