Arlis E. Garmon

Arlis E. Garmon, 92, of Bristol, passed away December 20, 2007 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart.

She was born to George W. and Ethel S. (Fry) Whickizer and married Basil F. Green. He preceded in death in 1945. She married Charles E. Garmon who died in 1986. Surviving are a son, Douglas B. (Suzanne) Green of Bristol and a daughter, Linda (Randy) Garmon Gardner of Bloomington, IN; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by twin daughters, Judith Green and Sally Green DeMorrow, a brother, Eugene Whickizer and a sister Lalia Hoover.

Mrs. Garmon worked at Kings Grocery in Sturgis, MI, Harkers and Hardings Market in Bristol, and Getselmans Meats in White Pigeon, MI. She was a charter member of Winding Waters Brethren Church, enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. She sang with the Elkhart County Chorus and various Church choirs. She was past president of the ladies auxillary of American Legion # 143, Bristol.
