Barbara L. Long

Barbara L. Long, 78, of Bristol, passed away Monday morning Nov. 17, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born April 29, 1936 in Bristol, IN to Donald L. and Edith M. ( Doolittle) Conover.
She married her high school sweetheart Gerald W. “Jerry” Long on Sept. 11, 1955 in Bristol. He survives along with 3 sons: Gary A. (Julie) Long of Columbus, OH, Michael D. Long of Bristol and Mark W. (Tammy) Long of South Bend, IN, daughter-in-law Iris Long of Knoxville, TN, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a sister Dorothy L. Swartz of Bristol.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Scott D. Long, brother James D. Conover and sister Betty J. Kantz.

Barbara was a very active member of Bristol United Methodist Church, a member of the Red Hat Society and was a member of the Bristol Town Council. She enjoyed summers with her family at their lake home in White Pigeon, MI and going camping.
She was Secretary/Treasurer for the business owned by her and her husband, Custom Fabricators, Inc.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Thursday Nov. 20th at Bristol United Methodist Church with Pastor Fred Stayton officiating. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol at a later date.
