Barbara Speraw

Barbara Speraw, 81, of Pine Ridge Court, Elkhart passed away May 27, 2008 after a 6 year battle with Alzheimers disease.

She was born October 7, 1926 in Elkhart to Howard and Clara (Koehler) Shelley and married Charles Speraw Jr. on August 7, 1945 in Topeka, Kansas. He survives with 3 daughters, Marsha (Jim) Wirt, Karen (Jim) Carrico, and Linda (Robert) Friend all of Elkhart, a son, Brent (Jill) Speraw of Indianapolis, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a sister, Joanne Radabaugh of Portage, MI.

Mrs. Speraw worked for 20 years as a secretary for Miles Laboratories, Inc. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Altar Guild. She was involved with the cookies at the church Bazaar and enjoyed her grandchildren and their activities.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, and an hour prior to the 11:00 am service on Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, 831 W. Marion St. Elkhart. Sister Nora Frost and Pastor Steven Reshan will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church.
