Barbara Joan Strausborger

Barbara Joan Strausborger, 81, of Bristol, IN died at 7:30 pm December 23, 2009 at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born August 27, 1928 in Kirklin, Indiana to Wm. Rush and Mary (Sparks) Perkins and married Donald R. Strausborger on October 8, 1950 in Elkhart. He survives with 2 sons, Randall (Cheryl) Strausborger of Mishawaka, IN and Ronald Strausborger of Charlotte, NC and 4 grandchildren. 2 brothers preceded in death, William “Bill” Perkins and Robert Perkins.

Mrs. Strausborger was a graduate of Elkhart Business College and was an inspector for Whitehall Laboratories, Inc. for 18 years. She formerly was a secretary for Dr. Arlook and was the private secretary for Wilbur Schult of Schult Trailer Company. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and Pi Rho Zeta Sorority. She was a former member of Four Lakes Country Club and an avid golfer and was former Union president at Whitehall Laboratories.

Visitation will be from 3-6 pm Monday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, where services will be held at 12 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Reverend Larry W. Kurtz will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
