Beatta M. Kauffman

Beatta M. “Betty” Kauffman, 103, of Elkhart, formerly San Antonio, TX from 1972 to 1993, died at 4 pm July 16, 2010 at Golden Living Center, Elkhart.

She was born July 28, 1906 in Elkhart to George and Hattie (Firestone) Foster and married John R. Kauffman on July 25, 1925 in Elkhart. He died February 25, 1984. Surviving are 1 son, George (Rita) Kauffman of Jones, MI, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter, and 2 daughter-in-laws, Gretchen Kauffman of Austin, TX and Della Kauffman of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Stanley and F. Phillip Kauffman and daughter Mary Lou Bushong.

Mrs. Kauffman retired from the housekeeping dept. at Elkhart General Hospital after 23 years.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be at 10:30 am Thursday at Rice Cemetery. Sister Nora Frost of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate.
