Bernice A. Comer, 100, of Elkhart, died May 31, 2010 at Riverside Village, Elkhart. She was born January 8, 1910 in Kokomo to Charles and May (Earley) Martin and married Raymond L. Golightly on Sept. 26, 1926. He died July 4, 1947. She married Elmer Comer April 16, 1949. He died July 17, 1971. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Peggy Golightly of Elkhart; 2 grandchildren, Jill (Bill) Terry and Jeff (Karalee) Golightly; 3 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Tanner and Elizabeth and “adopted grandchildren”, Amy, Beth, Matt and Jenny. She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond G. Golightly and a twin sister, Janice Walker.

Mrs. Comer was a homemaker and member of the former Albright UM Church and now a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening.

Friends may call from 4-6 pm Wednesday and an hour prior to the 1 pm funeral on Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. Pastor Catherine Koziatek will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
