Betty M. Hanna-Meyers

Betty M. Hanna-Meyers,86 of 26077 Lake Drive, Elkhart died November 12, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at home. She was born on March 26, 1921 in South Bend, Indiana to Ira Ray Smith and Bertha Hartzell Smith.She married Jack Hanna in October of 1949. He died July 14, 1989.She then married James R. Meyers on July 10, 1996.He died November 18, 2002.

Surviving are two daughters; Beth (Michael) Ronzone of Elkhart and Denise Staggs of St. Petersburg, Florida, a son, Bill Hanna of Elkhart, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Mildred Pickering of Elkhart, Indiana.She was preceded in death by sisters Thelma Baker, Jeri Tetzloff and a brother, Bill Smith.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 Thursday at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart where services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday with the Reverend David Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend.

Mrs. Meyers sold appliances for Ziesel's for 12 years, the Louie B. Duck & Sons and Zimmermans.She was a Charter member of Winding Waters Brethren Church, a member of the Rockerettes for 15 years, 1994 Senior Fair Queen for the Elkhart County 4H Fair.She loved gardening and was a huge Chicago Bulls fan.Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
