Betty Kissinger Engle Johnson

Betty Jane Kissinger Engle Johnson, age 93, of Elkhart passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born on November 4, 1927 in Culver, IN to Charles Fleet and Carrie Kissinger. She married Gerald L. Engle, he preceded her in death on April 24, 1990, she later married Gerald A. Johnson, he preceded her in death on December 7, 2016.

Betty was the owner of Fountain of Beauty Hair Salon on Bower Street in Elkhart. She was a member of Adamsville Road Church of God. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her children, Gary L. Engle of Goshen, Donna D. (Patrick) Sting of Elkhart, Mark (Mary) Johnson of Fishers, IN and Diana (George) Johnson Zornow of Owosso, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Janis Engle of Elkhart; grandchildren, Kari (Travis) Bone, Thaddeus (Kristin) Engle, Julie (Michael) Reid, Jennifer Engle, Erin (Steven) Roth, Kelly Sting, Mary Beth Zornow, John Zornow and Rebecca Zornow; and 14 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Terry A. Engle and her husbands.

Friends may visit from 10 am – 1 pm on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514, where funeral services will private. Rev. Michael Reid will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery.
