Billy D. McNeal

Billy D. McNeal, 85, of Elkhart passed away Tuesday, September 12, at Courtyard Healthcare Center, Goshen.

He was born March 16, 1932 in Pleasant Lake, IN to Charles and Mary E. (Frick) Shook. He married Shirley A. Couch on June 6, 1952 in Elkhart. She survives along with 3 children, Jessie (Hazen) Amos of Elkhart, Richard D. (Patricia) McNeal of Goshen and Terri (Kathleen) McNeal of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 step-sisters, Betty and Ethel and 2 step-brothers John and Abe. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Douglas and Billy K. McNeal and a daughter, Vicki McNeal.

Billy retired in 1994 from the Elkhart City Street Dept. where he was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed Notre Dame football, Chicago Bears, fishing and bowling. He served in the Indiana National Guard.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 1 pm Friday, Sept. 15th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 pm. Pastor Randy Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
