Bryan E. Medford

On Mon., Oct. 19, 2015, the Lord called home Bryan Edward Medford, 47, at Hospice House, Elkhart.

Born Dec. 11, 1967, in Sturgis, Mich., Bryan was the son of Sharon (Newman) Medford, Edwardsburg, Mich., who survives, and H. Wade Medford, who preceded him in death.

A devoted father and husband, Bryan married Wendy N. Connelly, just over two years ago, on July 13, 2013, joining their families, including five children from previous marriages: Lareesa Medford, Fort Wayne; Garrett and Grace Medford, Elkhart, Brittany Frye, Three Rivers, Mich., and Lindsey Riddle, Elkhart. They survive.

Also surviving are Bryan's brothers, Tim (Maryanna) Medford, Ogema, Wis.; Allen (Michele) Medford, Elkhart; Richard (Karen) Medford, Richmond, Va.; Josh (Tosha) Medford, Elkhart; and sister Dina Boocher, Elkhart.

Bryan was a graduate of Edwardsburg High School. He owned and operated Medford Insurance Agency (Farmers Insurance Group), Elkhart, and was a member of Simonton Lake Sportsmen's Club and a former coach and board member for Osolo Little League. Bryan also had a passion for cars and college football, which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends.

An attendee of Sugar Grove Church, Bryan was admired by many for his faith and love for his Lord Jesus Christ. He took pleasure in helping others to grow in their Christian faith, as well. Some of his finest work is evident in the same faith and love instilled in his and Wendy's children.

Visitation will be at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, on Sat., Oct. 24, 1-2:30 p.m. and 4-6 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. memorial service, officiated by Pastor John Ware.
