Burthelle Schroeder-Pelz

Burthelle Schroeder-Pelz, 86 of Goshen, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 in her home.

She was born July 31, 1928 in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio to Feodor D. and Ida D. Schroeder. She married Victor “Mike” Pelz on July 6, 1988 in Menomonee Falls, WI. He died on Feb. 28, 2000. Surviving are a brother, Norbert J. (Margaret) Schroeder of New Port Richey, FL; 2 nieces, Kathleen (Dr. Mark Pirner) Schroeder and Ann Cook, a nephew, John (Chris Fowler) Schroeder; Step-daughter, Valorie Davis of Ft. Wayne and 3 step-grandchildren.

Burthelle earned her bachelor’s degree from Capital University, in Columbus, OH and her master’s degree from St. Francis University, Ft. Wayne. She was a school teacher having taught at St. John Lutheran School in Ft. Wayne and retired from Elkhart Community Schools. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Greene Road, Goshen and Sigma Delta Pi and Delta Kappa Gamma.

Visitation will be an hour prior to the 10 am service on Saturday, April 11th at Faith Lutheran Church, Greene Road, Goshen. Rev. John Hickey will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.

Memorials may be given to the Church or to A.D.E.C.
