Caitlin “Catie” Lynch, 21, of Elkhart, died at 6:56 pm Saturday (Sept.18) in the St. Joseph Hospital-Burn Unit, Ft. Wayne, IN from injuries suffered in a traffic accident.
Catie was born March 9, 1989 in Mishawaka, IN to Sam T. and Anngi Lynch. Catie is survived by her parents, siblings: Tammie E. Phipps of Waterford, MI, Shannon L. Lynch of Chicago, IL, Heather A. Lynch of Elkhart, Derek A. Lynch of Fishers, IN, Andrew T. and Madeline D. Lynch both of Elkhart, grandmother Barbara Holland of Westland, MI, grandfather Carl D. Essary of Dyersburg, TN, great-grandmother Anna Guziel of Lavonia, MI, Aunt Lori and Uncle Chris Essary and her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Catie graduated from Concord High School, where she was a member of the Concord Marching Minutemen Band. She attended Ball State University. She loved working at Cici’s Pizza of Goshen, where she was proud of originating the fun activities like ‘Funny Hat Friday” and “Tattursdays” for the staff. It was Catie’s goal to enjoy life to the fullest. She enjoyed her music, her many friends here in Elkhart, and in Muncie, writing poems, short stories, lyrics, blogs, and she loved to photograph anything random.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Wednesday and Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Services will be 11 am Friday at the funeral home and will be officiated by Pastor Tommy Morelock of River Oaks Church.
