Carmen J. Peterson, 85, of Elkhart went home to be with her Lord on Friday morning. She was born March 13, 1926 in Elkhart to Ned S. and Helen B. (Mitchell) Morse.
On Nov. 29, 1947 she married Thomas F. Moore who preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1971. On Mar. 31, 1973 she married Russell Peterson who also preceded her in death on Jul. 8, 1990.
Surviving are a son Jeff (Dianne) Moore of Elkhart, two daughters: Beth Ann (Jeff) Morris of Los Angeles, CA and Cathy (Bill) Lytell of Estero, FL., grandson John Moore, granddaughter Lisa Merchant and grandson Troy Lytell, nine great-grandchildren and a sister Vera (Mace) Companion of Elkhart.
Carmen was a secretary for Elkhart Bridge and Iron and later for Richardson Mobile Homes. She lived for many years in Arizona and had a great humor and zest for life.
A private Christian Memorial Service was held at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart with Pastor Bill Lytell officiating. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.
