Carol Ann Maier

Carol Ann Maier, 69 of Elkhart passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 12th at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born June 23, 1947 in Elkhart to Haven L. and Fae E. (Whiteman) Trigg. She married Roger D. Maier on July 1, 1963. He died on Feb. 7, 2014. Surviving are 2 sons, Randal (Tracy) Maier of Indianapolis and Jeff (Mary Pat) Maier of Fishers; a daughter, Karen (Tom) Howard of Middlebury; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Steven (Dolly) Trigg of Elkhart and Roger (Phyllis) Trigg of South Carolina and a sister, Irene (Dick) White of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Maxine Mazar, Janet Shanholt and Karen Trigg and her parents.

Carol retired as a stocker for Target and also had worked at Judd’s Drug Store and Federal Paperboard Co. She enjoyed reading. “Our mother’s greatest attributes was a love of family, caring about everyone in our lives, and being Jerry Lee Lewis’s greatest fan. Our mothers’ riches in life was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our mother and father are still in love since July 1, 1963 and now united forever”.

Visitation for Carol will be from noon to 2 pm Friday, July 15th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Little Pine Cemetery.
