Carol Sue Mock

June 22, 1932 — January 1, 2012

Carol Sue Mock, 79 of Elkhart, went to be with the Lord and her Beloved husband Dean on Sunday January 1, 2012 @ 2:26 p.m. at her residence with her family at her bedside.

Mrs. Mock was born June 22, 1932 in rural Cromwell, Indiana; the daughter of Shirley Leroy and Julia Ann (Jones) Kalb. They preceded her in death. In 1950 she graduated with honors from Cromwell High School, serving as class secretary. She was elected to serve at “Girls State” at Indiana University by the Cromwell American Legion Auxiliary in 1949.
November 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Dean R. Mock at the North Webster Church of God. He preceded her in death September 5, 2006.

Mrs. Mock was co-owner of Mocks T.V., established in 1954. A business she successfully operated during her husband’s twenty-seven year tenure as Elkhart County State Representative. She retired in 1997. She was a member of the Elkhart County Republican Women’s Society, serving a president.
As a member of the Elkhart Northside Church of the Nazarene she served as a board member and traveled to the Holy Land in 1980.

Mrs. Mock is survived by: two daughters, Deborah Sue (Dana) Baugher, Goshen; Elaine Marie Earnhart, Elkhart; one sister, Shirley Virginia (Wayne L.) Reed, Kimmell; 4 granddaughters, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where services will be held at 11 am Friday. Burial will be at Prairie Street Cemetery.
