Caroline J. Poe

Caroline J. Poe, 63, of Elkhart, passed away April 3, 2014 at her home after an extended illness. She was born October 10, 1950 in Elkhart to Charles L. and Gerda E. (Kobernic) Noel. She married LaRue E. Poe on May 31, 1975 in Elkhart. He survives along with a daughter, Andria (Kevin) Burkus of South Bend and a son, Ryan L.E. Poe of Indianapolis; 2 grandchildren, Korbin and Mallorey Burkus; 2 sisters, Christine (Gary) Horne of DeSoto, TX and Deborah (John) Granger of Constantine, MI and her mother, Gerda E. Noel of DeSoto, TX. She was preceded in death by her father.

Caroline graduated from Concord High School in 1968 and earned an Associates degree from South Bend College of Commerce. She was a Junior Accountant for 33 years at Gunite Corp. She was a very active member of Fresh Start Church, part of the Christian Missionary Alliance and long-time family members of Zion Missionary Church. She was past-president of the Women’s Ministries at Zion Church and an avid quilter.
