Catherine C. Fager Gunn

Catherine Clara Fager Gunn, 87, of Union, passed away Sunday September 4th, 2016 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation, Elkhart. She was born October 22nd , 1928 in Mishawaka to William and Clara (Egendorfer) McGarity. On June 14th, 1947 in Mishawaka she married Charles L. Fager who preceded her in death on May 1st, 1991. She then married Curtis Gunn on February 21st , 1998. He preceded her in death on March 7th, 2007.

Surviving are her children: Jack M. (Jan) Fager of Wichita, KS, Donald Fager of Crowley, TX, Patrick (Becky) Fager of Union, MI, Diana (Evern) Hazel of North Attleboro, MA and Thomas (Linda) Fager of Three Rivers, MI, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a sister Margaret (Ralph) Waters of Valdosta, GA. She was preceded in death by a brother Bill McGarity and a sister Lucille Williamson.

Catherine graduated from Mishawaka High School on May 30th, 1943 and worked 25 years for Excel and 10 years for Whitehall. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edwardsburg and Women of the Moose.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 12 noon service Saturday September 10th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home with Fr. Joseph McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Plum Grove Cemetery, Union, next to her husband Charles on Monday September 12th at 10:00 am.
