Charles Whitcomb Phillippe,86 of Bristol, Ind. died March 5, 2010 at 5:05 am at home. He was born Sept. 3, 1923 in Frankfort, Ind. to D. Maynard and Alzena Clare (Goff) Phillippe. He married Letha G. Cutler on June 9, 1946.
She survives along with two sons; Alan Craig (Peggy) Phillippe of Baudette, Minn., Charles A. (Cyndie) Phillippe of Kevil, Ky., a daughter, Carla (Mike) O’Connell of Bristol, Ind., 7 grandchldren.; Lisa (Joe) Borg of Baudette, Minn., Kellie (Orlando) O’Connell Alvarez of San Jose, Costa Rica, Ryann (Benjamin) O’Connell Stanley of Goshen, Ind., Megan (Jeremy) O’Connell Williamson of Indianapolis, Ashley Phillippe of Plymouth, Minn., Charley and Cutler Phillippe both of Kevil, Kentucky, 8 great grandchildren and 7 siblings. A sister, Mary Caroline Claudy preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 11:30 am Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Bristol Church of the Nazarene, 401 Hilbish Blvd. Bristol, Ind. with the Rev. Chad Finney officiating. Friends
may call from 10 am to service time Monday at the church. Burial will take place in Frankfort, Indiana at a later date. Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Phillippe served in the U.S. Navy in the See Bees during World War II. He retired from General Telephone in 1981 He was a member of the Bristol American Legion, Elks
And Moose lodge as well as the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
