Charles “Chuck” Junior Stouder, 86, of Pleasant Plains, AR, passed away Tuesday April 7 at Batesville Hospital in Arkansas. He was born June 3, 1928 in Elkhart to Merle and Bertha (Decker) Stouder. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Verna (Pippenger) Stouder, son “Chuckie” Stouder of Elkhart, daughter Sandra Stouder-Balbo of Granger, sister Mary McCarthy of Elkhart, grandson Courtney R. Collins of Goshen, 2 great-grandchildren Brayden Collins of Goshen and Nevaeh Harrison of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Merle Stouder, Jr. and 2 sisters: Virginia Garbrick and Ruby Duncan.
Chuck was the owner of Pleasant Plains Hardware since 1976. He served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 10am Friday Apr. 10 at Union Grove Baptist Church, Pleasant Plains, AR.
Graveside services will be held 10am Monday Apr. 13 at West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen, IN where military honors will be rendered. Local arrangements entrusted to Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart.
