Charles R. Tubbs, 61, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday Feb. 11 at home. He was born Nov. 1, 1952 in Goshen to Van Tubbs and Mary Ellen (Hall) Strong . On March 4, 1989 in Osceola, IN he married Nancy Keb who survives along with a daughter Carol Jean (Edwin) Colon of Huntsville, AL, 3 sisters: Deborah (Bill) Walters of Elkhart, Vanessa (Doug) Kolkow of California and Anna (Tony) Krider of Goshen; 2 brothers: James Robert (Deb) Tubbs of Middlebury and Christopher Tubbs of Elkhart; his step-father William Strong of Bristol, a grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Charles served in the U.S. Marines and worked in human resources at Midway Truck and Coach. He was owner-operator of Woodscraftsman and Finniwig Studios. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed caving and climbing.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Sunday Feb. 16 at St. John’s of the Cross Episcopal Church, Bristol, with Chaplin Jim Bontrager of the Elkhart Police Department officiating. A fellowship gathering will follow the service at the church. Cremation has taken place.
