Charlotte J. Dalton

Charlotte J. Dalton, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday March 26, 2013 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart.

She was born June 12, 1927 in Elizabethton, Tenn. to James and Beulah (Baines) Treadway. In Gate City, Virginia, on July 16, 1945 she married John R. Dalton. He died September 12, 1992. Surviving are 2 daughters, Sherry (John) McCrory of Crossville, Tenn. and Jennifer Fine of Elkhart; 1 son, John (Sue) Dalton of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; 3 nephews and 1 niece and brother-in-laws, Terry R. (Carol) Dalton and Allen McKinney and a sister-in-law, Florine Allen all of Elizabethton, Tenn. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie McKinney in 2011.

Charlotte retired from International Paper in Elkhart where she worked for 30 years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge in Elkhart.

Friends may call an hour prior to the 11 am service on Saturday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. The Reverend Terry McCrory will officiate. Burial will be at Rice Cemetery.
