Chester W. Shuck, 67, of Elkhart passed away Thursday March 6 at the home of his daughter in Elkhart.
He was born Jan. 29, 1947 in Kalamazoo, MI to Claude and Lois D. (Ramer) Shuck. On Feb. 13, 1981 in Logansport, IN. he married Debra J. Muckenfuss who preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 2012.
Chester is survived by daughters: Kimberli Cedillos of Elkhart, Christi and Catherine Shuck of Kokomo, IN., Elizabeth (David) Scott of Logansport; step-son John Bashor of Elkhart, step-daughters: Annette Duran and Crystal Muckenfuss both of Elkhart, sons: Noah, Caleb and Dakota Muckenfuss all of Elkhart, sisters: Judy Haught of Peru, IN., Ruthann Young of Kokomo, Charmaine (Emory) Meacham of Kokomo, Claudina (Keith) Buford of Abilene, TX, and Diana (Melvin) Parsons of Kokomo, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Shuck and a sister Dorothy Shuck.
Chester was a truck driver all of his life and became a Wal-Mart greeter after retiring. He loved his grandchildren, raised Bassett hounds and was in the Peace Corps when he was 17.
Visitation will be Tuesday Mar. 11 from 9am to 1pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, where the service will be at 1pm with Rev. Tom Clark officiating. Burial will be at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
