Colleen Stockdale

Colleen Stockdale, 87 of Elkhart, IN. passed away July 29, 2012 at 11:42 P.M. at home. She was born on March 13, 1925 in Elkhart to Harry and Bernice (Mathias) Cone. She married Bill L. Stockdale on May 25, 1963 in Elkhart.

He survives along with two sons; Michael Stockdale and Douglas Stockdale, both of Elkhart, two nieces; Dara Cone of Elkhart and Amy (Joe) Green of Minnesota, two nephews; Scott (Katrina) Stockdale and Steve (Adrianna) Stockdale both of Texas and a sister-in-law, Ann Stockdale also of Texas. She is preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Cone, and a sister-in-law, Beverly Cone.

Visitation will be held 4-7 pm Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on August 9, 2012 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Elkhart with Father Daniel Repp officiating. Visitation that day will be from 9:30 am until service time in the Common Room at the church. Her remains will be entombed in the columbarium at St. John’s.

Mrs. Stockdale was a registered nurse at Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. and Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart. She was a graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in South Bend and Elkhart High School. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
