Craig. M. Bennett, 56, of South Bend, passed away Thursday Nov. 6 at home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1958 in Markham, Ontario, Canada to Charles M. and Agnes (Wideman) Bennett. On May 24, 1996 in South Bend, he married Janet L. Thornton, who survives, along with 4 children: Brittany (Adam) Wade of Missoula, Montana, Daniel Peters of Bloomington, IN, Zachary Bennett of Columbus, OH, and Megan Peters of Indianapolis, IN; 2 sisters: Carolyn Bennett of Markham, Ont. and Carrie (Ray) Beatty of Richmond Hill, Ont. and his mother Agnes Bennett of Stouffville, Ont.
Craig graduated from Ft. Wayne Bible College with a degree in International Business and received a Masters in Ministry from Bethel College. He was employed as a marketing consultant.
Craig played, coached, refereed and loved hockey but he lived for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was an avid sailor, artist and musician. He was also a former Youth Pastor.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Tuesday Nov. 11 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart and an hour prior to the 12:30 pm service on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Harrell officiating.
