Daisy L. Eastman

Daisy L. Eastman, 89 of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 at Woodland Manor.

She was born July 30, 1926 in Moline, IL to Harry and Gail (Strong) Lovejoy. She married Dr. James T. Eastman on July 17, 1948 in Chicago. He died on July 18, 2004. Surviving are 3 daughters, Gail A. Eastman of Elkhart, Jan L. (James) Mellott of Bristol and Patricia (Alan) Handler of Highland Park, IL; 2 sons, Tom Eastman of Elkhart and Bill (Jeanie) Eastman of Pinehurst, NC; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Harry “Bud” (Ang) Lovejoy of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Peter Elias.

Daisy graduated from the Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Tri-Kappa Sorority and was a former member of Elk’s and Elcona Country Clubs. She enjoyed Notre Dame football, bowling, golf and crafts.

The family would like to thank the staff of Woodland Manor for their wonderful care of Daisy.

Family and friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11:30 am Saturday, Nov. 7th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will begin at 11:30 am. Pastor Sarah Sanderson-Doughty will officiate.
