Dick Whitcraft, 77, of Cassopolis, MI, passed away on Friday April 5, 2024 in Elkhart, IN. He was born on January 27, 1947 in Muncie, IN to James R. and Hazel V. (Garner) Whitcraft, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelle D. Moore; 2 grandsons, Kohen J. Turner and Maverick C. Moore; a granddaughter, Vivian Diane Marie Moore; and a god-daughter, April Allen; 2 sisters, Amy (John) Anderson and Anne (George) Garrett.
Also surviving is his significant other, Nicki Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Kyle Whitcraft.
Dick was Certified Public Accountant. He graduated with his MBA from Ball State University in 1972, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served his country in the United States Army. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church.
He loved hunting, motorcycles and Montana, which he said was Heaven.
One of Dick’s greatest accomplishments was to “realize his wildest dreams.” He strove to be happy and Christ-like, helping friends and neighbors, and was proud to be “FULL BLOODED REDNECK!”
Friends may visit with the family from 11-2 PM Saturday April 13, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Beardsley Ave., Elkhart, IN 46514. A memorial service will take place at 2 PM at the church. Burial will take place following the service in the First Presbyterian Church Gardens with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to the church or sending them a card with a special memory of Dick.
