Donald R. Bachman

Donald R. Bachman, 60, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday Nov. 19 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Aug. 15, 1956 in Elkhart to Donald F. and Shirley (McKiddie) Bachman. He married Tamara L. Maier on July 24, 1982 in Elkhart. He is survived by his wife, Tami Maier of Elkhart, a son, Donald J. (Sarah) Bachman of Elkhart, and daughter, Nicole (Jeremiah) Howe of Indianapolis; 6 grandchildren, Kymberly, Dalton, Ameerah, Matthew and Aliyah Bachman and Lincoln Howe; a sister, Nancy LeCount, brother, Bill (Leslie) Bachman and his mother and step-father Shirley and John Sites all of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his father.

Don graduated in 1974 from Elkhart Memorial High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. Don spent his career working in the RV supply industry starting at CP-Products which later became Coast Distribution, and most recently started National RV Supply. He loved fishing, golfing, boating and spending time with his family. He was an avid Notre Dame and Detroit Lions and Tigers fan.

Family and friends may visit from 2-3 pm Wednesday, Nov. 23rd at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where a memorial service will begin at 3 pm. Rev. Sarah Sanderson-Doughty will officiate. Per Don’s wishes, cremation was chosen.
