Donald L. Baughman, Sr.

Donald L. Baughman Sr., 82 of Elkhart, passed away August 28, 2014 at the Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born January 26, 1932 in Kendallville to Ervin and Freda (Streeter) Baughman. He married Shirley A. McGary on August 8, 1964. She survives along with 5 sons, Donald L. (Deborah) Baughman Jr., Thomas E. (Faith Ann) Baughman James (Diane) Schott all of Elkhart, Jerry (Debbie) Schott of Bristol and Stanley Schott of Elkhart; 4 daughters, Sandra (Edward) Rock, Donna (Mike) Gonzales, Paula Taylor and Amanda (Rich) Rose all of Elkhart; 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Vivian, Virginia Horner and Alberta Krallman of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by a daughter Janice Schott Ballage, 3 grandchildren, Jason Baughman, Mary Ann Schott and Jerry Schott Jr., 3 brothers, Jim and Francis Baughman and Vincent Newton and a sister, Annette Kras.

Don was a retired truck driver for 25 years for Coachmen Industries. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #599 and enjoyed bingo and going to the casinos.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 2nd from 5-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, Sept. 3rd.

Memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice Care or Alzheimers Association.
