Donald E. Chason

Donald E. Chason, 79 of Bristol, passed away Sept. 10, 2014 in his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1935 in Whigham, GA to Marvin and Nettie Chason. He married Marilyn S. Shellenberger on Oct. 18, 1969. She survives along with 3 children, Paul (Mary) Chason of Elkhart, Darlene (Tony) Henderson and Marvin (Adriana) Chason both of Bristol; 8 grandchildren, McKinzie, Jeremy, Dana, Amanda, William, Jessica, Kelsey and Casey; 2 great-grandchildren, 7 step –grandchildren, a sister, Evelyn Nelson of Cairo, GA and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Chason, a grandson, Cory Chason and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Don was an Over the Road Trucker, retiring in 2009 after 22 years from D.R. Smith Co., Akron, IN. His CB handle was “Country Boy”. He loved trucking, being outdoors and playing with his grandchildren.

Visitation for Don will be Friday, Sept. 12th from 6-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, where services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, Sept. 13th. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
