Donald E McDowell

Donald E. McDowell, 78 of Bristol, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 at Greenleaf Living Center, Elkhart.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1937 in Elkhart to Paul O. and Leona C. (Carter) McDowell. He married Judith S. Sicks on July 3, 1960 in Fairmount. She survives along with 2 sons, Curt (Laura) McDowell of Indianapolis and Brian (Kim) McDowell of Constantine, MI; a daughter, Barbara (Mike) Rosenberry of Elkhart, 5 grandchildren, Samantha, Chase, Sydney, Evan and Erin and a brother, Dale (Sharon) McDowell of Elkhart.

Don graduated in 1955 from Elkhart High School and attended Tri-State College and I.U.S.B. He retired as a millwright after 43 years from Miles/Bayer. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Elkhart Vintage Auto Club and was a Boy Scout and 4-H leader for 15 years. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with his Model A.

Visitation for Don will be from 5-8 pm Friday, Oct. 7th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where memorial services will be at 10 am Saturday, Oct. 8th. Rev. John Hogsett will officiate.
