Donna P. Melkus

Donna P. Melkus, 86, of Elkhart, met God on Saturday Jan. 18 at Elkhart Hospice House. She was born Dec. 23, 1927 in Noble County, IN.
She was adopted by Jesse and Lilly (Collins) Cripe on Apr. 10, 1931.
On Feb. 14, 1975 in LaPorte, IN she married L. Fred Melkus who preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1999. There are no survivors.

Donna graduated from Concord High School and retired from Taylor Products after 15 years as a receptionist and accountant.
Donna was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church serving in many capacities. She was known for her sense of humor, love of her pets and playing cards.

Her body was donated to the Anatomical Education Program in Indianapolis per her request. There will be no services.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Cancer Society.

Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral and Cremation Center is handling local arrangements.
