Doris M. Myers

Doris M. Myers, 85 of Bristol, passed away, April 9, 2014 at Schubert Villas - Holy Cross Village, Notre Dame, IN. of Ovarian Cancer.

She was born October 4, 1928 in Clinton County, IN to Wilson T. and Claudia (McAfee) McKinney. She married Robert G. Myers on May 6, 1951 in Bristol. He died October 22, 2002. Surviving are a son, Brian ( Sheila ) Myers of South Bend; granddaughter Abby Myers, brothers Richard McKinney of Pendleton, IN, Larry (Connie) McKinney of Upper St. Claire, PA and Michael (Carolyn) McKinney of Sheridan, IN. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Wilma McKinney and Marianna Law, and a brother, Norman McKinney.

Doris graduated from Elkhart Business College and was a homemaker, and worked at Teachers Credit Union as a teller. She previously had worked for Whitehall Credit Union and Martin Band Instrument Co. She was a member of the Bristol United Methodist Church, and the Bristol Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm Sunday April 13th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where an Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 pm. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the 11 am service Monday April 14th at Bristol United Methodist Church. Reverend Fred Stayton will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
