Doris Mae Stemm

Doris Mae Stemm, 92 of Elkhart, passed away March 17, 2014 at Greenleaf Health Campus. She was born April 25, 1921 in Albion, Indiana to Albert LeRoy and Mae Belle (Lovett) Kunkle. She married Louis A. Stemm on November 8, 1942 in Waco, Texas. He died January 31, 2007. Surviving are a sister, Vera Snyder of Flint, Mich., and 10 nieces and 3 nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna McLachlan. Doris retired in 1972 as a production worker for C.T.S. Corporation after 20 years. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the Married Women’s Club. She loved to sew, bake, cook and travel. Visitation for Doris will be an hour prior to the 11 am service on Friday, March 21st at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. Reverend Laurence Smith will officiate.
