Dorothy E. Glace

Dorothy E. Glace, 92 of Elkhart, Indiana died February 2, 2011 at 6:00 A.M. at Greenleaf Living Center in Elkhart. She was born on May 6, 1918 in East Lansing, Michigan to Frank R. and Jennie (Eldridge) Heath. She married Gerald D. Glace on July 12, 1954 in Marquette, MI. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2006.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Patricia J. Gouker of Elkhart; one granddaughter, Patty (Jim) Peterson of Trenton, IL.; one grandson, Mike (Jodi) Bane of South Bend, IN.; six great grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Delphi) Heath of North Bend, WA.; two sisters, Dolores (Ray) LaFayette of Bellevue, WA. and Mildred Merrick of Coconut Grove, FL. She was preceded in death by one son, James Michael Bane, one brother, Richard Heath, and one sister, Mary L. Morrison.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart where friends may call for 2 hours prior to the service. Pastor Dale Turner will officiate. Burial will be at Prairie Street Cemetery. Per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

She was a silver solderer for Buescher Band and Vincent Bach, Elkhart. She loved to rock hunt, read and make her own jewelry. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
