Dorothy Jean Kidder

Dorothy Jean Kidder, 90, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday July 22 at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born August 6, 1923 in Chicago, IL to William C. and Edna M. (Gmelich) Rhodes.
Dorothy married Eldon Seamands in April of 1947 and Walter Hardison in June of 1961.
On March 8, 1982 she married Howard Kidder who preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1996.
Surviving are a son Edward E. (Janice) Seamands of Conway, AR, 4 grandchildren,
9 great-grandchildren, 6 step-children, 6 step-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren, a sister, Alice Rhodes of Ann Arbor, MI, brothers: Clark (Fran) Rhodes of Lehigh, FL and Richard (Barbara) Rhodes of Osceola, IN.

Dorothy graduated from Elkhart High School in 1941 and attended St. Joseph Hospital Nursing Program graduating in 1947. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Kansas and Missouri. She enjoyed knitting reading her Bible and joining the Bible study group at her residence.

Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the 11am service Monday July 28 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. Pastor Ray Laborde from McCoy Memorial Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
