Dorothy Linnea Swartz

Dorothy Linnea Swartz, 95 of Elkhart, IN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday November 6, 2024 at Brentwood Assisted Living. Dorothy was born on April 3, 1929 to Donald and Edith Conover in Bristol, IN. She married Eugene Swartz on September 11, 1948 at the First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Elkhart, IN.

Dorothy worked at Zeisel’s and Drakes Department Store, she was a secretary at Marksill Specialties, Bristol Laminating and ESI Meats in Bristol, IN. She was a member of the Red Hat Club. She loved to serve the Lord and was a member of Bristol Community Church in Bristol for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School, she served on various committees, such as the Methodist Women. Most importantly she loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Judy (Jonathan) Mater, Steven Swartz, Dennis (Kathy) Swartz and Carol (Robert) Becktell; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and brother-in-law Gerald Long. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Carol Lynn; grandson Mason Swartz, twin great-granddaughters, Dakotah and Sadie Becktell; siblings Betty Kantz, Barbara Long and James Conover.

Visitation will be held from 10 am-12 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Bristol Community Church, 201 South Division Street, Bristol, IN 46507 where funeral services will be held at 12pm at the church. Pastor Gary Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol, IN. Memorial donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the church.
