Dorothy I. Trindle

Dorothy I. Trindle, 93, of Elkhart, passed away November 16, 2008 at Courtyard Healthcare Center, Goshen.

She was born March 11, 1915 in Milford, Indiana to Edward G. and Agnes (Schaffer) Johnson. She married Henry N. “Hank” Trindle on November 24, 1935 in Ligonier, IN. He died on May 4, 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Joan (James) Stiver of Middlebury, IN, a son, Terry (Sandy) Trindle of Elkhart, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Susie (Ray) Reas of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Kenneth, Gerald, Richard, Edward Jr., Paul and James Johnson.

Mrs. Trindle retired from Mansfield Laboratories/Copper Chemicals in Elkhart after 38 years as office manager. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church; Business and Professional Women; Homemaker’s Club; 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star; Women of the Moose; and former member of the Married Women’s Club.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, and an hour prior to the 11:00 am service on Saturday at the funeral home. Reverend Larry W. Kurtz will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church are requested.
